Dear Diary,
It's the last day of the school week!
There were 2 announcements today. One informing us that the Netherlands surrendered to the Germans. The 2nd telling us that the home guard has been formed.
When I got home from school, I helped build the Anderson Shelter. After that, I was too tired to do anything, so I went up to bed. Half an hour later , Pia came up with some supper. I thanked her and she said that it was no problem.
Pia stayed for a while. We talked about school.
" Mr. Barker is bezerk." Pia said.
I replied, " More like barking mad.
" You mean Mr. Barking Mad !" To that we both laughed.
