Danny the duck was the smartest creature you would ever find.
"Oh Danny, for a shilling would you please tell me how to catch one-handed?", asked Georgina the cow. "I've been trying but I can't seem to get it. And just this morning it occurred to me that you would be able to help me. Don't you worry if you don't have time, for you probably have more important things to do and I can just keep me-self to me-self."
"Don't you worry! Your problems will be sorted in no time." he replied. They went off to get a ball.
Surprise! Surprise! After an hour, Georgina could nearly catch the ball no-handed (if that were possible). With a satisfactory grin, Georgina handed over the shilling.
"Don't you give that to me!" Danny quacked. "Go get a cooked breakfast and celebrate with your friends about what you can do!" Georgina thanked him and trotted off.
Now, Danny wasn't just the smartest creature, he was the kindest creature too. These two things go very well together indeed and because he was these two things, he spread his cleverness around so it got passed on to all sorts of living creatures. That is the reason why we human beings are so smart. It is thanks to Danny the duck! Even though chickens heard some things from Danny (once upon a time), they aren't that clever because, you see, chickens don't like telling stories and so they failed to pass on the information. They are always too busy ruffling their feathers and making themselves look gorgeous for no particular reason.
So what Danny did, almost everyday was help the pleading souls of his time. But he also had a family to take care of. These ducks were called: Nattily Flipper-Duck; his wonderful wife (well so he thought) and his two attractive daughters; one by the name of Caron, age 13, and the other called Nina who was 9 at the time this story took place. The two daughters took after their father in having a great mind and being loving and caring. They were also seamstresses; not unlike their marvellous mother.
"Good day to you, Robert." greeted Danny.
