Wednesday 9th April 1940
Dear Diary,
I lost my diary for 7 months! Well I'm glad it was at that time, because nothing exciting has happened.
Anyway in the afternoon I heard that Germany has invaded Norway and Denmark. So I guess the Nazis are getting closer. It feels like one really long nightmare. 2 years ago, I never imagined this happening but it has! I don't like the rationing.
I am starting to realize how grateful people should be when they get food. I do like that I'm getting lots of eggs and milk. But I'm not getting much meat.
I think the Nazis have forgotten about Devon because they have not come yet. So I'm not scared yet. But I am emphasizing on YET.
It has bee quite worrying, not knowing if your parents are alive or not. I also think it is unfair that they didn't put me and Mason together. It should be illegal to separate siblings from each other! I think it is absurd!
